Auburn gets a home rematch

The game is set for 8 p.m. CT at Neville Arena, where Auburn hosts Appalachian State; App State won the teams’ most recent meeting three seasons ago, and the game is scheduled for SEC Network.

App State’s defense is the early calling card

Auburn’s staff highlighted that App State held its recent opponent to 49 points; the Mountaineers also ranked No. 16 nationally in scoring defense last season, allowing 66.1 points per game.

The glass is a key matchup

Appalachian State ranked 17th nationally in offensive-rebounding percentage, while Auburn allowed 18 offensive boards in its opener.

Auburn showed scoring depth in its opener

Ten Tigers played at least 10 minutes and scored against Southeastern Louisiana, showing Auburn has a broad rotation. Adam Olsen has SEC–Sun Belt matchup experience from South Alabama.

Rubstavicius is unavailable

Mantas Rubstavicius will not play for Auburn this season after his eligibility case ended; Auburn’s staff said the roster had prepared to adjust at that position. This is an eligibility absence, not a reported injury.
